About Me

Hello there,

My name is Tina and I am an occasional blogger. I like to blog about fashion, beauty, and of course, Buddhism. This blog is designed for me to record every step of my "Buddhist journey." Let me share a little about how I came into this practice!

I was born into Buddhist family. Both of my parents had practiced various types of Buddhism throughout their lives, so much of the Buddhist similarities were already engraved in me as I was growing up. However, the concepts were mainly stressed on attaining Buddhahood or Enlightenment can only be in Nirvana or after death. In 2002, I was introduced to the Nichiren Daishonin Buddhism by my host-parents in New Zealand. I was hesitant to practice because the way that we chant in this Buddhism is completely different from what I was used to; even the object of devotion are different. After about a year, seeing them consistently practicing and showing actual proofs, I started practicing as well.  In May 2003, I received my Gohonzon (which is the object of devotion in our Buddhism) at the age of 15. At that time, I was struggling to overcome my first break-up of a relationship and the feeling of emptiness of not having my family with me. Ever since then, I have been consistenly practicing (or at least try to be...) this Buddhism until now.
